My Hero - Tara Ruffing

Without my mom, I would not be who I am today. My mom is like my best friend. I tell her anything and everything, there are no secrets between us. I love my mom very much and I can't imagine what my life would be like without her. My mom is the best mom out there. She is so nice and very loving. I look up to her and when I'm older, I want to be just like her. She is very confident and she is a great person. My mom is the biggest inspiration in my life and she is my hero.

My Interview with My Mom: Tara
Nicole – “In your lifetime, what is the biggest obstacle or struggle you have had to overcome?
Tara – “The biggest struggle I have had to overcome in my lifetime is the death of family members. It is extremely hard to imagine life without them and it’s very hard to lose someone you love so much.”

Nicole – “How did you eventually overcome your struggle?
Tara – “I overcame my struggle through prayer and through spending time with my family and friends. They are always there for me to turn to.”

Nicole – “What accomplishments are you most proud of?
Tara – “The accomplishments I am most proud of is my marriage and my kids. Your dad and I have raised very loving and caring children, which will always make us extremely proud.”

Nicole – “How do you think your life has impacted others?
Tara – “I think I have had a positive effect on others. I feel I have been a trustworthy, honest, supportive and loving person.”

Nicole – “What was your life and family like growing up?”
Tara – “My life growing up was wonderful. I had an amazing family. We had a lot of fun together and we enjoyed being with each other. We were very considerate and always willing to help each other out.”

Nicole – “What kind of support did you have in your life?
Tara – “In my life, my support comes from my family, friends and through prayer. I know I will always have great support no matter what.”

Nicole – “What are some of the differences you see between your generation/experiences and mine?
Tara – “The biggest difference I see is the technology that is available now to your generation that was not available when I was your age. I feel that your generation lacks the skills of verbal communication and is into instant gratification. I feel that messages that are given to your generation are that you are entitled to things verses things come with hard work.”

Nicole – “What advice do you have for me/others?
Tara – “The best advice I can give to you is be honest, work hard, get involved with your school and community, get a good education, go to college and be a prayerful person.”

A Letter To My Hero

Dear Mom,
I am writing to you to thank you for everything you do for me. Without you, I don’t know what my life would be like today. I don’t know who I would be today either. You are my hero, my inspiration in life. I look up to you in everything that you do. I know that if everyone acted the way you do, our world would be one amazing place to live in. I want to thank you for working so hard to earn money so you can get me the things that I need and want like good food every day, clothes to wear, and a very nice home to live in, along with all of the other little things in life that are not necessary. I also want to thank you for working so hard so you can send me to a Catholic school. I may complain about how hard school is or how boring it might be, but I want you to know that I appreciate your hard work and all of the effort that you put forth in trying to allow me to get a good education.
Beyond the necessities in life, you are always trying to get me the little things that I want. Like you have said to me before, one of your biggest goals in life is to make your kids the happiest they can possibly be. By now, I think you have accomplished this goal over a million times! This goal could not be possible to achieve though, if you did not work as hard as you do. I know how much stress your job can create and I give you so much credit for putting up with it. I realize that sometimes I might not seem as thankful as I should be, but I want you to know that I appreciate every little thing you do for me. You are and always will be my role model and my hero.

Love,Nicole

This song by Rascal Flatts is exactly what my mom wants for me. It is her her wish for me and it explains everything she has taught me. Every time my mom and I hear this song, she reminds me to really listen to it and get the true message that comes from it. This song is one of mine and my mom's favorite songs. This video inspires me and I hope it inspires others as well.
